(1) GOAL

UI/UX Design of a new web based hospitality cruise shipboard application. Desktops and tablets only. Basic customization for specific ships. Create the Guest Management Module.

Crew members.

(3) DISCOVERY PHASE

• Verbal introduction to the desktop application in use aboard.
• Use legacy application as a model.
• Minimal number of legacy app screenshots provided:
  • Login
  • Launch Panel
  • Guest Management Module (3)
  • Crew Management Module

Gather elements

• Research hospitality/property management software.
• Research for dashboard design ideas and find bootstrap components.
• Interviews with legacy platform users.

(4) CONCEPTUAL AND STRATEGIC THINKING

• Product ideation and high level product behavior.
• Product solution specification by listing ideas into common HTML components.
• Describe the behavior of these components and expected user interactions.

(5) Information Architecture

Functionality analysis and optimization. Wireframe creation. Creation of an interactive prototype. Content gathering (copy & media).

Design + functionality approach

Conversion of the legacy application functionality into a web environment.
Consistent global elements identified for every module:

• System menu – applies to every single screen of the application.
• Module menu – applies to the module in use.
• Actions menu – corresponds to the screen in use.
• Branding & white labeling – applied throughout the whole site.

(6) Webpage Design

Using Photoshop or Illustrator; create the webpage design, graphical styling and presentation of webpages.

(7) UI/Front End Development

HTML5 UI development implementation. Inclusion of bootstrap components. Responsive design for tablets. Module personalization for different targeted clients.
